Top 20 Worst Charities Revealed

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger has released a list of the 20 worst charities that operate in Oregon. From veterans organizations to anti-drug funds, a host of charities – many supposedly representing firefighters, police, veterans and the drug war – spend a fraction of their donations on the people and causes they purport to support.

"It is important that generous Oregonians make charitable contributions to legitimate organizations," said Attorney General Kroger. "Many charities do great work, but some are little more than scams that do little to help the people they claim to support."

Here are the top six worst charities soliciting funds from Oregonians:

 

·         Shiloh International Ministries from La Verne, CA

Purpose: To provide medical necessities and moral support to needy children and to

provide assistance to the homeless

·         Law Enforcement Education Program from Troy, MI

Purpose: To educate teenagers on the effects of alcohol

·         Korean War Veterans National Museum and Library from Rantoul, IL

Purpose: To preserve a record of participation in the Korean War, educate the public, and to promote friendship among vets

·         Foundation for American Veterans, Inc. from West Bloomfield, MI

Purpose: Promoting social and recreational welfare for current and past U.S. Armed Forces members, dependents, widows, widowers and others

·         Dogs Against Drugs/Dogs Against Crime from Anderson, IN

Purpose: Drug Education and Crime Prevention

·         National Vietnam Veterans Foundation from Alexandria, VA

Purpose: Support of Veterans Organizations
