Should Marijuana be legal? That's the question under discussion at a free event organized by Better People, a nonprofit that helps former inmates returning to the community.
The 13th semi-annual Educational Forum, "Marijuana: Should It Be Legal?" will run from 11:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m., Thursday Oct. 3 at the Metropolitan Public Defender's Office, 630 SW Fifth Avenue, Suite 500 in downtown Portland.
Panelists include Judge Jean Kerr Maurer, who supervises Multnomah County's drug court; Russ Belville, executive director of 420RADIO.org; Sgt. Chris Kenagy, supervisor of Portland Police Bureau's Drug & Vice Task Force; and Michael Resnick, M.D., Director of Addiction Psychiatry at Portland Veterans Administration.
