CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Former Oregon State running back Yvenson Bernard is raising funds and supplies for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Bernard, who is of Haitian descent and has family there, plans to visit the devastated island nation in two weeks to deliver the items.
Oregon State is helping out by accepting donations at this week's basketball games. The Beavers host Arizona on Thursday night and Arizona on Saturday.
Bernard is the school's second-leading career rusher behind Ken Simonton. He most recently played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
